Acquaint Now Thyself With Him

Job 22:21: Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.

When should we acquaint ourselves with Him? Now. How can we acquaint ourselves with Him? Receive Him into your heart, surrender yourself to Him and study the Bible. Confess and forsake your sin. Why else should we acquaint ourselves with Him? Sin will be like a cloud between us and Him. Not knowing Him will cause a multitude of problems. Not knowing Him at all is the worst thing that can happen to anyone. The Bible gives us a multitude of reasons we need to know Him and the dangers of not knowing Him. Read on.

Daniel 11:32: And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

1 Thessalonians 4:1: Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. 2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. 3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

1 Corinthians 15:34: Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Galatians 4:8: Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.

Psalms 79:6: Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.

John 17:3: And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Jeremiah 9:24: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

John 8:19: Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

Hebrews 8:10: For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Knowing Him will make Heaven heavenly. Why not seek to know Him better here and now and thereby make your here and now more heavenly.
